Amelie Oudea-Castera, the French minister of sport, has revealed that she could speak with her Argentinean counterpart over certain Argentina fans’ “vulgar” taunting of France star Kylian Mbappe in Buenos Aires as they celebrated the World Cup champions’ return.
Emiliano Martinez, the goalie for Argentina, held a doll baby with Mbappe’s face on it during an open-top bus parade through the capital as the nation celebrated its triumphant return.
Meanwhile, a group of fans set a makeshift coffin lid adorned with a cross and a photo of Mbappe on fire.
Images of both went viral on social media and Oudea-Castera told RTL Radio she was looking at the issue.
‘I am not ruling out discussing this with my counterpart,” she said, adding that France’s soccer body had also written to Claudio Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), over the affair.
‘I find all of this quite pitiful,” she added.’

Martinez, meanwhile, also drew the ire of former France centre-half Adil Rami who was disgusted by the former Arsenal’s goalkeepers antics.
Adil Rami has slammed World Cup bad boy Emiliano Martinez and has labelled the Aston Villa goalkeeper ‘the biggest s*** in world football’.
‘The most hated man. Mbappe traumatized them so much that they celebrate the victory against our team more than their World Cup.’
