Fulham have reportedly placed a £60 million price tag on Joao Palhinha as both Manchester United and Bayern Munich line up for his signature.
The Portuguese midfielder stayed at Craven Cottage after his transfer to the Allianz Arena fell through last August.
The 28-year-old expressed his desire to make the switch to Munich from Fulham in January. But the German giants were unable to approve the move because of Thomas Tuchel’s uncertain status.
However, Vincent Kompany gave the go-ahead for Bayern to make a move for the midfielder. And over the weekend, they put in a £30 million bid for him.
United are currently monitoring the situation after that offer was turned down.
Although Fulham are prepared to lose the midfield player, according to Sky Sports as claimed by The Metro, the Cottagers are seeking £60 million for Palhinha.
Although United could easily reach that number, Bayern could gain the upper hand due to the managerial unrest at Old Trafford.
This week, United are anticipated to make an announcement regarding Erik ten Hag.
Tuchel did not end up replacing Ten Hag, even though he had discussions with Sir Jim Ratcliffe last week in Monaco.

Gareth Southgate and Mauricio Pochettino are still in the running.
It remains to be seen where Palhinha will end up before the start of the 2024/25 season. However, it would be massive if the Portugal international makes the move to either United or Bayern.
