Arsenal will be ‘waiting’ for their rematch in February, Gabriel has informed the Manchester City players.
It would be an understatement to say that tensions erupted during Sunday’s 2-2 draw between the two clubs who have been title rivals for the past two seasons.
Erling Haaland perfectly captured the rivalry between the two teams when he hurled the ball at Gabriel’s head following Man City’s dramatic last-minute equalizer. It felt like the rivalry really reached a fever pitch at the Etihad.

The Gunners defender has since issued a warning, saying, “We are waiting for them at our ground.”
After reviewing Haaland’s contentious behavior, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) determined that no punishment was required because it did not call for a red card. Reported By Talksports.
In a moment of rage, Gabriel appeared to be unresponsive to his teammate Haaland’s maneuver, pulling his shirt over his head.
He has since fueled their antagonism while also insisting that occurrences like that are common in sports.
“No, I don’t remember it,” he remarked. I can’t recall doing it. It’s typical. Nevertheless, congrats to the team on the draw.
“Battle, war, and provocation are common and integral aspects of football, as I have stated. It is now finished. We are currently waiting for them on our property.”
However, Haaland’s transfer wasn’t well received by Arsenal icon Ian Wright.
He called the striker from Norway’s move to toss the ball a “coward’s move.”
You know what, though, really brought me to my knees? The cowardly move by Haaland “Wright said.
“This morning, I witnessed it clearly—throwing the ball toward Gabi’s head when he isn’t looking and his back is facing him.
What a genuine cowardly gesture. Gabi would give you a direct sight.
“I love watching these two play, and I think this will be a really good defender versus striker for years to come. But you’re acting like a coward.”
“No, man, that’s what really bothers me. I thought you were bigger than that, bro. I really thought you were bigger than that.”
Gabriel and Haaland were seen rowing with each other at the final whistle, with Arsenal debutante, 17-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly, stepping in between the two.
