Cristiano Ronaldo has received a bizarre threat just under a week before he captains Portugal in their Euro 2016 group F opener against Iceland, from a famous Icelandic fan.
It was sent by Hafthor Bjornsson, better known as ‘The Mountain’ from Game of Thrones, who told the Real Madrid superstar – in less than polite terms – to seriously re-think any ideas he had about scoring against his country next week.
“My name is Hafthor Bjornsson, from Iceland. I am The Mountain from Game of Thrones. I have a message for Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said.
“I know you’re playing against Iceland in the first game. If you dare to score a goal against my team-mates, I will find you and crush your head like I did to the Red Viper.”

So it sounds like a threat that Ronaldo should probably take seriously, especially since Bjornsson is a regular in the World’s Strongest Man event, where he has come third three times and was a runner up once, as well as being crowned Europe’s Strongest Man twice.
So what will the Portuguese skipper do if he finds himself one on one with Hannes Thór Halldórsson in the Iceland goal to win the game for Portugal?
Rather you than us, Cristiano.
