Garnacho Sends Heartfelt Message To Martinez Following Injury News

Manchester United winger, Alejandro Garnacho reportedly sent an earnest message to teammate Lisandro Martinez after news broke out that the Argentine could be out for up to nine months due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

During Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace at home, the center-back was in tears as he was stretchered off. The innocuous injury appeared to be caused by a struggle that left Martinez sprawled on the Old Trafford turf.

As United try to salvage the season with a respectable league finish, as well as a run in the FA Cup and Europa League, Ruben Amorim will be without one of his defensive mainstays for the remainder of the season.

However, with a recuperation time of about nine months, they might be without the former Ajax defender for a long time.

According to Manchester Evening News, in a post to his Instagram story, Garnacho sent a message to his international teammate saying: “You will come back stronger, our warrior,” with a red heart and strong arm emojis.

“Licha is really important for us, not just as a football player, but as a character, especially in this hard moment, now it’s time to help Licha like he’s doing for so long,” United head coach Amorim said on Sunday.

“I think it’s a bad situation, let’s wait to assess things with the doctor but I think it’s a serious situation.”
