Toro Rosso driver Pierre Gasly admits he was very pleased with Saturday’s qualifying display and wants to build on it in the race. At the US Grand Prix, held in Austin, Texas, the Frenchman managed to get through to Q3 and qualify tenth on the grid. It is the second weekend in a row the young Frenchman has got his car through to the final stages of qualifying, with team mate Daniil Kvyat not so successful as he starts the race in 13th. Now, the 23-year-old Gasly is hoping to secure his fifth points finish since moving from Red Bull after the Hungarian Grand Prix. “I’ve felt strong in the car this weekend and we were in the Top 10 in all of the sessions, it felt good as I could push the way I want,” he said after qualifying. “We’ve made it into Q3 for three races in a row, so we can be pleased with that. “I’m satisfied with the performance today, and I like the way the team is working together. “Tomorrow is the day that counts and hopefully we can continue the run of points to help us in the Constructors’ Championship.”
