Quique Sanchez Flores, the manager of Getafe, has laughed off Xavi Hernandez’s complaints after their Sunday afternoon 0-0 stalemate with Barcelona.
Following the game, Xavi had complained that the grass was too long and the field was too dry, claiming that the ball did not move. According to Sanchez Flores, ‘every team uses the tools it has at their disposal.’ He also defended the pitch’s condition, calling it ‘beautiful grass.’
He was then quizzed about Xavi’s other comments about the time of the match, when the Barcelona coach said that ‘we are not accustomed to playing with this sun either’.
Sanchez Flores could not contain his laughter at the question.
“Nivea… [laughs]. Aftersun, I don’t know,” he responded.

The Barcelona boss already has a reputation in Spain for complaining about the state of the pitch whenever the result does not go in his favour, and he played into his caricature on Sunday.
Given the performance from the Barcelona side, few will feel much sympathy for Xavi and his men.
Xavi’s team also played out a 0-0 draw with Girona last weekend, although still maintain a comfortable advantage over second-placed Real Madrid at the top of the table.
