Gladbach comeback pleases Brandt

Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt says he and his team always had the confidence they could come from behind to beat Borussia Monchengladbach. BVB found themselves a goal behind in their DFB Cup tie against Monchengladbach on Wednesday night but a four-minute brace from Brandt helped Dortmund secure victory and progress through to the next round of the competition.
Germany international Brandt has now spoken of the confidence in the BVB squad and feels there was never any panic despite going behind against a Gladbach side currently sitting pretty at the top of the Bundesliga table. “It feels good even though not everything went well in the game,” he told the official Bundesliga website. “There were ups and downs. But if you turn a game around within the space of just a few minutes against the Bundesliga leaders, that’s certainly good for self-confidence. This win does a lot of good for the team.”
Dortmund have endured a tough start to their Bundesliga campaign, with just four wins from their first nine games to leave them down in fifth place in the table.
However, no side has been able to pull away at the top of the table and BVB sit just three points behind frontrunners Gladbach.
Dortmund have a big game on their hands on Saturday when they host a Wolfsburg outfit sitting just one point and one place above Brandt’s side in the Bundesliga table.
