Graham Potter ‘Has Full backing Of Chelsea Owners’

Chelsea’s owners reportedly have no regrets about appointing Graham Potter as the club’s head coach and will not contemplate breaking ways with the Englishman.

Thomas Tuchel was dismissed and replaced by then-Brighton & Hove Albion coach Potter in less than 24 hours in early September.

The 47-year-old began with a nine-match undefeated record, leading a Champions League comeback to win qualifying for the knockout rounds with a match to spare.

However, since the Blues put on possibly their most energetic display under Potter at Red Bull Salzburg, four losses have been tallied in five games.

Those defeats were against Potter’s former club, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Newcastle United, three of which occurred on away territory, with the third occuring in the EFL Cup.

Nevertheless, with Chelsea failing to score in three consecutive games, social media users have called for another change in the dugout.

According to The Athletic, there is no possibility of that happening as Chelsea’s owners remain ‘unwavering’ in their support for their coach.

As per the report, club management decided to reassure Potter that they had not contemplated terminating their partnership after just over two months.

That alleged stance comes as Chelsea is in eighth place in the Premier League table, eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

The West Londoners have also been without a top-flight win since defeating Aston Villa on October 16, with subsequent games in the West Midlands ending in draws with Brentford and Manchester United.

Potter has also had to deal with numerous injuries to important players during a stretch of 13 games between October 1 and November 12, eight of which were played away from Stamford Bridge.

N’Golo Kante’s intended return from a hamstring injury was called off due to the need for surgery, Wesley Fofana was forced out with a knee injury on October 5, and Reece James suffered a similar problem less than a week later away at AC Milan.
