Crystal Palace have reportedly identified Graham Potter as a candidate for their managerial position following Roy Hodgson’s brief interim spell.
When the Eagles parted ways with Patrick Vieira in March, the club’s administration surprised many by reuniting with the Frenchman’s predecessor, Roy Hodgson.
The 75-year-old’s return was inspirational, as he scored 18 points in 10 Premier League games to finish 11th in the standings.
As of now, it is uncertain whether the veteran will return for another season, as his contract expires at the end of 2022-23.
However, as a club based in London that places greater emphasis on signing younger players, Palace will be considered as an appealing alternative for out-of-work managers this summer.
According to Foot Mercato, Palace are interested in getting Potter back into the Premier League as soon as possible.
Between September and April, the 48-year-old played 31 games for Chelsea, winning 12, drawing eight, and losing 11.
However, Potter left Stamford Bridge with his reputation intact, as a result of Chelsea’s scatter-gun strategy in the transfer market and bringing the squad to the Champions League quarter-finals before his departure.
When Potter got sacked by the Blues’ hierarchy, he was reputedly approached by several top-flight clubs, but he insisted on taking a break from the dugout.

However, Potter will certainly receive additional offers in the coming weeks and months, with clubs understanding that he will be in high demand.
Potter’s previous – and most fruitful – time at Palace’s rivals Brighton & Hove Albion before his move to Chelsea could be a stumbling block.
According to the report, Nice continues to monitor the situation after missing out on continental football for 2023-24.
