Former Manchester United star, Mason Greenwood has equalled one of Didier Drogba’s records following his impressive start to life at the Olympique Marseille after netting 13 goals.
Greenwood, a one-cap England player who is currently deciding about switching allegiance to Jamaica, reached that milestone in 20 Ligue 1 games. He got off to a fast start in 2024–25, hitting the target five times in three games.
Since then, there has been the occasional decline, but overall, the 23-year-old has been able to sustain remarkable individual standards. He has scored three more goals since the year began, helping Marseille maintain their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Greenwood is keeping up with the legendary Drogba at Marseille, who made his debut at Stade Velodrome and went on to win Premier League and Champions League titles with Chelsea in England.

According to Goal, the forward, alongside Drogba are the only players to plunder 13 goals in their first 20 appearances with Les Olympiens.
Despite his recent success, Greenwood was unable to score in Marseille’s most recent match. Nevertheless, Roberto De Zerbi’s team managed to secure another victory as they fought their way to a 2-0 triumph away at Angers.
Marseille are up next against relegation-threatening side, St. Etienne at the Velodrome stadium.
