Griezmann rules out move to Real Madrid but confirms contact with other clubs

Antoine Griezmann has insisted he will not be moving to Real Madrid from Atletico, but did reveal his team were in contact with other clubs.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a transfer for the attacker, but Atletico is expected to stonewall any potential summer switch.

Real were the latest big hitters to be linked with Griezmann, but the France international believes that move would be impossible given the rivalry between the clubs.

‘I cannot say yes or no, otherwise I will be in the sh**,’ he said.

‘You never know what will happen in football but jumping from Atletico to Real, I do not think it is very feasible.

‘Very, very few players have done that, so I think it is dead [the idea].’

Griezmann scored a late equaliser against Real over the weekend after reports in Spain claimed Los Blancos were lining up a 2018 move for the goalscorer.

The 26-year-old is tied down to Atletico until 2021, but that has not stopped speculation and Griezmann confirmed his team were receiving enquiries about his services.

‘Eric Olhats, my sporting advisor, takes calls and speaks with me,’ said Griezmann.

‘We are happy to get these calls but for now, I am happy here and in a good mood.

‘As I often say, I am here. When we speak about Real and Atletico, it is not good for the fans or the club.

‘I continue to work hard, to enjoy my football and I am happy on the pitch as you saw today.’
