The step up from Real Sociedad starlet to Atletico Madrid leading light has been a profound one for Antoine Griezmann, who puts his incredible blooming down to coach Diego Simeone.
A talisman for both Los Rojiblancos and the France national team, the striker has continued his great form into the 2016/17 with six goals in the first two months of the campaign.
“[Simeone] completely transformed me, with him I learn everyday, either tactically or technically,” Griezmann told Eurosport.
“I’ve improved as a centre-forward but now I am also happy to run back and help the defence.”
Despite coming up short in both the Champions League and Euro 2016 finals, the Frenchman knows where he needs to keep improving as he makes a name for himself.
“My coach that motivates me and what I need to do now is win titles,” Griezmann added.
“I’m sure Atleti will win a major trophy.
“[As for] the Ballon d’Or… I do not go to bed every night thinking about it.”
