Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admits Chelsea are the best team in the Premier League and he is keen to crack Antonio Conte’s secrets ahead of their meeting at the Etihad next week.
The two coaches were among a number of big-name managerial arrivals in the Premier League this summer, and have had the desired impact after fixing the two sides that badly under-performed last term.
Still, few would have expected that Conte would be out-shining Guardiola at this stage of the season, with the Spaniard arriving in England with the reputation as one of the best managers of the modern era.
City will now host Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in a real six-pointer next week, and Guardiola admits that he has something to learn from his opposite number.
‘Now we are going to play against the best team of this moment in the Premier League,’ he said after his side’s win over Burnley.
‘In the last five or six weeks they have played amazing – not just clean sheets but the way they play.
‘We have to try and discover his (Conte’s) secret and what we can do to beat him.
‘We have now six days, seven days to prepare that game. Most of the players are tired and that’s why we are going to prepare our game as much as possible.’
