Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has already made a decision on which players he’s keeping beyond this season.
No fewer than seven City players will be out of contract in the summer with Guardiola adding they’ll have to wait until the end of the campaign to learn their fate.
Yaya Toure, Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Willy Caballero, Jesus Navas and Tosin Adarabioyo are those individuals in question and their futures are not dependent on what happens in City’s final matches.
“It does not depend if they play the last three games,” he told the Independent.
“The decision is already made. We are going to communicate after the season. I know in my mind.”
Guardiola was speaking before City’s narrow win over Leicester City at the Etihad on Saturday which kept their Champions League aspirations alive as David Silva and Gabriel Jesus had put the hosts ahead before Shinji Okazaki halved the deficit before the halftime interval.
Riyad Mahrez had the opportunity to equalise from the penalty spot but managed to kick the ball twice resulting in an foul attempt.
City, who currently sit third in the Premier League, welcome West Brom on Tuesday before travelling to Watford to round off Guardiola’s first season in English football.
