Guler Speaks Out On Real Madrid Situation Amid Arsenal Transfer Link

Arda Guler is adamant that he intends to remain at Real Madrid despite his lack of playing time this season.

In July 2023, the 20-year-old left Fenerbahce for Madrid for an initial sum of €20 million (£17 million).

Arda made 12 appearances in his debut season at Real Madrid, but Carlo Ancelotti was expected to give the midfielder more opportunities this season after he performed well for Turkey at Euro 2024 last summer.

But in the 47 games los Blancos have played this season, Arda has only started 10 of them.

Arsenal have already been linked with a move for Arda, with reports in Spain claiming earlier this campaign that Mikel Arteta’s side have made an attempt to find out more about the midfielder’s status at Madrid.

According to The Metro, Arda is sure that he still has faith in the career ‘plan’ Madrid presented to him when he left Fenerbahce.

“We’re ready to fight for all three titles until the end of the season, and that’s going to be exciting,” Arda told Marca after Turkey’s 3-0 win over Hungary on Sunday.

“Madrid always fights to win every game and every title. Personally, my only desire is to play in every game and help my team win every title.’

Asked if he is happy at Madrid despite his lack of playing time, Arda replied: “Real Madrid gave me a plan and I still believe in it.

“I’m sure I’ll succeed at Real Madrid, I’ve even bought a house in Madrid.

“I work very hard and I’m always ready to play, as you could see in this match against Hungary. I love Real Madrid fans and their support means a lot to me. I’m very grateful.”
