Didi Hamann, a former midfielder for Manchester City and Liverpool, believes Erling Haaland will surpass Mohamed Salah’s Premier League record.
In his first five Premier League outings, Haaland has already netted nine goals. His performance serves as the catalyst for the Citizens’ aspirations of winning their fifth league championship in six years.

Salah set a league record for most goals in a single league season with 32 in his debut season at Liverpool. Salah also contributed 10 assists to Jurgen Klopp’s team in 36 league games, which remains his best performance in the English top division.
Hamann thinks the new Manchester City player may surpass the Pharaoh’s record if he stays injury-free.

What Did Hamann Say?
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Hamann said: “Of course, he can if he stays fit. That’s the big question, he’s had quite a few muscle injuries in his career and when he was at Dortmund, so it’s a concern.
“These sorts of injuries can keep you out for six to eight weeks, if not longer, depending on how serious they are, so it could change the whole complexion in terms of his goal-scoring.
“But if he stays fit, then I think he has every chance of doing that.”
