Hall adds to GB injury issues

Head coach Wayne Bennett has confirmed Ryan Hall dislocated his knee in Great Britain’s 12-8 defeat to New Zealand on Saturday. Former Leeds Rhinos winger Hall, who now plays for NRL outfit Sydney Roosters, played the full match at Eden Park, Auckland despite dislocating his knee during the match. Confirming the 31-year-old’s injury, Bennett, as quoted by BBC Sport, said: “I think he’s dislocated his knee which he did earlier in the season. It’s gone back in but it did come out, so he said.” Hall is now doubtful for the remainder of the series and he adds to Great Britain’s problems, with Wigan centre Oliver Gildart already ruled out of the rest of the tour with a shoulder injury sustained against Tonga Invitational XIII on October 26. St Helens prop Luke Thompson may also not feature again after hurting his rib in the same game, leaving Bennett with some selection issues to contend with. Reacting to Saturday’s loss, the GB boss added: “We’re on the up, we’re not going backwards and we played a quality team out there today. It was a tight game, there was nothing in it all afternoon. “We probably should have had two tries in the last five minutes but we didn’t get them and they managed to keep their nose in front.”
