Manchester United teammates encouraged Hannibal Mejbri to move to Sevilla because of the atmosphere their supporters create, and Mejbri was sold on the ‘Sevilla project’.
The 20-year-old has decided to sign a loan deal with Sevilla for the duration of the current campaign. The Spanish team have the option to sign him permanently for £17 million.
In the unlikely event that Sevilla decide to sign Hannibal permanently, United have included a buy-back clause. Additionally, it has been suggested that a portion of the agreement was added after the talks were underway. But INEOS is understood to have refuted this claim.
In September, Hannibal started back-to-back games for the Red Devils. However, after that, his opportunities were limited. And he declined a call-up to the Africa Cup of Nations in order to focus on his future.
Hannibal chose to sign with Sevilla over Everton, and he gave a detailed explanation of his decision during his unveiling press conference.
“I like Sevilla’s project and I think I can help the team to be better this season. I hope we can advance together and do something important in what’s left,” Hannibal said as reported by Manchester Evening News.

“I have played eleven games this season, trained very hard in Manchester. And I feel ready to play as soon as the coach decides. I feel good, without injuries and I hope I can stay that way.
“To be honest, I think I can help in any position. As a footballer, the most important thing for me is to play. I can play in any position. Although I have to say my preference, it would be like 8 or like 10, in the centre of the field.
