FC Barcelona had a mixed performance last night. On the one hand, the Blaugranes advanced to the semi-finals of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2018-19. On the other hand, they suffered their first loss since the beginning of the year, losing 3-1 to Borussia Dortmund but advancing 5-3 on aggregate.
According to SPORT, Hansi Flick confessed that his squad was not at its peak performance in this game, but he was also pleased that his guys had reached the semi-finals:
“We didn’t have the best day. The atmosphere was tremendous, and the opponent was extremely powerful. Playing these matches is not easy. In the end, we qualified—that was our goal, and we accomplished it.”
Hansi Flick also showed his joy after reaching the semi-finals:
“The Champions League is the best competition in the world, and reaching the semifinals is great for the club, the fans, and the team.”

However, the German coach did not divulge which opponent he would prefer to face in the next round of the competition:
“I don’t have a preference, I’ll just sit at home, watch the game on TV, and enjoy it.”
The Barcelona trainer recognized that his team did not perform at the required level:
“It wasn’t our finest game and I understand the questions… The mood in the dressing room wasn’t great either, but I told them we should be joyful since we’d made it to the semifinals.”
Despite the defeat yesterday night, the Blaugrana coach sought to emphasize the positives:
