Despite FC Barcelona narrow victory over Getafe, Robert Lewandowski continued his scoring streak and added another goal to his tally, extending his lead in the Pichichi race.
With this shot, the veteran Pole now has seven goals in seven La Liga games. Furthermore, he has two assists in the early stages of the league season.
Even at the age of 36, Lewandowski’s scoring rate demonstrates that he is still one of Europe’s deadliest attackers. He has already won the Pichichi since arriving in Barcelona and is once again the front-runner for the trophy.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the German coach, Hansi Flick, recognized the Barcelona striker’s great qualities during a press conference following the match against Getafe. The Blaugrana manager thought Lewandowski was the best striker in the world for the past decade:
“Robert Lewandowski has been the best center striker in the world for the last 10 years… His duty is to play in front and score goals, and he does that. Simple!”
The German coach has given great respect to a player with whom he has worked for a long period. During Flick’s tenure at Bayern, Lewandowski was one of Europe’s most feared strikers, helping his team win six titles.
Flick’s appointment is once again bringing out the best in the €15 million-rated Polish forward, as evidenced by his performance in the season’s opening few games. Hopefully, he will continue to perform at this level for a few more years and help the Blaugranes add some more big trophies to their trophy cabinet before his body prevents him from continuing to play at Europe’s greatest level.
