Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly open to a move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the future.
The England captain unsuccessfully tried to force a move away from North London in 2021, with Daniel Levy unwilling to budge on his £150 million asking price.
Manchester City, who were supposed to be the frontrunners for Kane, have subsequently signed Erling Braut Haaland, while Manchester United are unable to offer Kane Champions League football.
Kane eventually committed to Tottenham for the 2021-22 season, helping Antonio Conte’s side qualify for the Champions League after collecting 17 goals and nine assists in 37 Premier League appearances.
Conte’s influence on the Tottenham squad has fueled renewed hope that Kane will sign a new contract at Hotspur Way, since his current term expires in less than two years.
If Tottenham do not end their 14-year trophy drought this season, Kane will turn 30 without having won a major club award.
Is Harry Kane Leaving Tottenham Hotspur For Bayern Munich?
As a result, Bayern Munich, who failed to sign a direct replacement for Robert Lewandowski in the summer, are expected to make a move for the 29-year-old, though director Hasan Salihamidzic recently denied that contact was made in the summer.
Journalist Florian Plettenburg, however, disputes the Bayern chief’s remarks, explaining to Sky Sports News – through Football Daily – that Kane could see himself playing at the Allianz Arena.
“Bayern Munich is a number nine club. Harry Kane is very hot. There was definitely contact between Bayern and Charlie Kane, the brother of Harry Kane and his top agent,” Plettenburg explained.
“We hear that Harry Kane can really imagine joining Bayern – it’s too early to say that he will do this, but it will depend on the situation of Tottenham.
“No-one could believe that Sadio Mane would make that step from the Premier League to join Bayern Munich, so why shouldn’t Harry Kane join him?”
Kane has started the 2022-23 season well for Tottenham, scoring five goals in seven appearances across all competitions, bringing his total for the Lilywhites to 253 goals and 59 assists in 353 games.
The striker has also emerged as the Premier League’s third-highest goalscorer of all time, trailing only Wayne Rooney (208) and Alan Shearer (260).

Bayern executives Oliver Kahn and Julian Nagelsmann have both talked up the possibility of Kane transferring to Bavaria in recent months, although Tottenham manager Antonio Conte slammed the pair’s comments earlier this summer as “disrespectful.”
Bayern have seen ex-Liverpool forwards Mane score five goals in his first nine games for the club after saying goodbye to Lewandowski, while 17-year-old Mathys Tel has two goals from four outings in all competitions.
