Hasenhuttl looking for answers

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl admits Southampton have not been good enough but insists he is working hard to find solutions to their problems. Saints’ wretched form sees them sitting 19th in the Premier League standings, with just eight points courtesy of two wins and two draws.
One point from a possible 21 has heaped pressure on the Austrian tactician, with sections of the media suggesting he will be the next top-flight boss to be shown the exit door.
Whether or not that happens, only time will tell, but of more immediate concern is how to stop the bleeding to get a long overdue victory.
That will not be easy as the south-coast outfit travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal after the international break before hosting a Watford side buoyed by their first league win of the campaign against Norwich City.
Home form is usually key to clubs in the lower reaches staving off the threat of relegation but Southampton are yet to win at St Mary’s in 2019-20, with away wins at Brighton and Sheffield United their only three-pointers to date.
 
However, Hasenhuttl in unconcerned where the victory comes – just as long as it does. “I think it’s not a big topic that we didn’t win a game at home because the last games also away we didn’t win, so we must take a good result,” he said.
Saints finished 16th last term and hopes were high they would be able to push on and secure a top-10 finish this time around in the coach’s first full season in charge.
That may still happen but the man at the helm admits he is seeking answers as to why things have gone so badly wrong. “Why we are not good enough is in the moment to find and I think we do a few things good, but in a few things when we try this we are not good enough and that is the problem,” added Hasenhuttl.
