Former Netherlands midfielder, Ruud Gullit has hit out at Manchester United’s forward, Wout Weghorst in a critical assessment. He said much-maligned striker is “not good enough” for the Red Devils or the Netherlands national side.
Since moving from Championship club Burnley to Old Trafford on loan. The 30-year-old has faced harsh critique and struggles to score.
Following yet another underwhelming performance for the Oranje. It would seem that Weghorst has brought those same problems with him to the international stage.
Weghorst has only struck twice in 18 games for the Red Devils. And on Monday night, he drew another blank for his nation during their 3-0 victory over Gibraltar.
After blowing several opportunities, he cut a frustrated figure. And he is unlikely to have felt inspired by the response to his display.
Gullitt was very critical of the towering forward when he was giving an assessment in his game.

“I always look at him in a weird way, I have a lot of admiration for him, but at the same time, I think… he is not good enough for Manchester United and the Orange.
“Every now and then you see defects,”he told Ziggo Sport
Weghorst himself wasn’t impressed with his performance on Monday.
“Whether it’s just bad luck. Ultimately, it’s also quality. You have to be honest about that too. You can call it bad luck.
“But that last ball of mine was allowed in. As a striker, you know that you can score in these kinds of games. Then you can also remain playing for the entire match, then you would like to repay the trust. That sucks.”
