Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has expressed his bewilderment at the fact that Manchester City‘s Sergio Aguero has never been included in the PFA team of the year.
Aguero is coming to the end of his sixth season in English football and has performed consistently in that period, scoring 119 times in 169 Premier League games, but has, rather surprisingly, always been overlooked for the team of the year.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Henry said: “He has never been voted in Team of the Season. I don’t understand it. We’re talking about Sergio Aguero.”
Extremely clinical in front of goal, Aguero is a very difficult proposition for defenders to deal with but was left out of the team of the year again this season, with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Everton forward Romelu Lukaku being included instead.
There have been suggestions in some quarters that Aguero could move on to pastures new this summer, but for now the Argentine is firmly focused on attempting to help City finish the season strongly and secure a top four finish in the Premier League.
