Thierry Henry is set for a significant promotion at Arsenal as part of the club’s academy shake-up, according to Daily Mail.
Henry has been a regular at the club’s Hale End academy, where he has been coaching various age groups as part of his UEFA badges.
Now he is being lined up for a coaching role with the club’s Under 18s. Nothing has yet been agreed, with Henry’s Sky Sports commitments a consideration.
Henry, a regular at the club’s senior HQ at London Colney in Hertfordshire, has impressed with his professionalism and dedication since his return to the club.
Henry is considered a potential future Arsenal manager so a role with the academy would represent his first steps towards the top job.
Other significant changes to the Arsenal academy include the likely departure of current head of academy Andries Jonker.
Coach Frans de Kat has already left while fellow Dutchman Jan van Loon could depart as Under 16s coach.
Current skipper Mikel Arteta could also form part of the club’s coaching revamp to stop him from joining Manchester City.
Sportsmail revealed last week how Pep Guardiola had offered the 34-year-old a coaching role at City.
However, the Gunners have informed Arteta that a role on the academy coaching team will be made available to him.
