Ander Herrera has revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho showed even more passion in the dressing room following his side’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace than he did on the pitch following the game.
United finally claimed all three points against Palace on Wednesday evening thanks to a late goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic which saw the Red Devils consolidate sixth place in the Premier League.
Following the match Mourinho went on the pitch to embrace and celebrate with his players with the Portuguese coach clearly ecstatic over the hard-fought win.
And Herrera has indicated that Mourinho’s energy carried over into the dressing room after the match due to his delight at winning the contest.
The Spanish midfielder also said that Mourinho shared his player’s belief that they deserve to have more points and, while United didn’t play their best match against Alan Pardew’s Eagles, their spirit carried them to a result.
Herrera said following the game, according to the Daily Mail: “You saw him.
“Even more in the dressing room, he is so passionate and thinks the same as us – that we deserve to have more points and that is why he was so happy today.
“We are so happy because we showed our spirit, this was not our best game but even on a day where we didn’t play our best game we created six or seven chances.”
