Madrid’s run had gained much publicity with the La Liga giants setting records but the defeat to Jorge Sampaoli’s men means that there is now just one unbeaten team left in Europe’s top five divisions – Hoffenheim.
Julian Nagelsmann’s team currently sit fifth in the Bundesliga having won six of their 16 league matches so far this season, and also collecting ten draws, leaving them without a defeat.
Hoffenheim have drawn their last three league contests but now stand alone as the one side to not suffer a league defeat this season in Europe’s top divisions, with their last league loss coming on the final day of last term.
