How long before United win the title again?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a sly dig at Liverpool when suggesting it will not take Manchester United 30 years to win another title, but how can he be so sure? It is not like United have never gone a huge amount of time without winning a title themselves as they went 41 years from 1911 to 1952 without a top flight league crown.
Much more recently, before Sir Alex Ferguson took over United went 26 years without winning the title, from 1967 to 1993, and it is not inconceivable to think that could happen again.
United are currently way behind Manchester City and Liverpool and it is going to take a huge turnaround to get them anywhere near being a title contender again. It has already been six years and will be seven when this season is done and dusted.
Whatever issues they have, and many believe it is to do with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, they need to sort it fast or they risk slipping even further behind.
United are of course a huge club, arguably the biggest in world football, and it is hard to think they could go such a long period without winning another title, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility.
When Liverpool last won the title in 1990 under Kenny Dalglish, no-one would ever have imagined they would go as long as they have without winning another one. But for one reason or another, it has happened, and the same could happen to United.
It is a slippery slope and at the moment, United are on it.
Manchester City and Liverpool now look as though they could dominate for years to come.
Things can of course change quickly and people will point out that may happen if either Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp were to move on.
However, not only do both clubs have the financial clout to help keep them at the top, possibly more important is the fact they have the right structure behind the scenes to keep them on the right path.
So much so, it would lessen the impact of losing a top manager.
Another one would come in and carry on because the recruitment policy etc is all in place and geared up for success. It has taken time, particularly at Liverpool, but is there now.
United’s structure is not right, the fact they continue to struggle despite chopping and changing manager shows that.
There are deeper issues at Old Trafford and until those are resolved, there is a real chance they could go 30 years without winning another title.
