Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks with a knee injury.
The former France international played the entire 90 minutes as the Lilywhites defeated the champions 1-0 thanks to Harry Kane’s club-record 267th goal.
Tottenham, led by Cristian Stellini while Antonio Conte recovered from gallbladder surgery, appeared to escape the game unscathed, barring Cristian Romero’s dismissal.
However, Telegraph journalist Matt Law has revealed that Lloris suffered ligament damage to his knee and will now be out for an extended period of time.
The 36-year-old required treatment near the end of the game following a challenge, and the report adds that Spurs were initially concerned about Lloris missing the rest of the season.
Such concerns have not materialised, but Lloris could be out until the beginning of April or later, ruling him out of several key domestic and continental fixtures.
The former Lyon man will miss both legs of Tottenham’s Champions League last-16 tie against AC Milan, who host the Lilywhites at San Siro next Tuesday before the return leg in London on March 8.
Lloris will be absent from both Tottenham’s February 26 Premier League London derby against Chelsea and their March 1 FA Cup fifth-round match against Sheffield United.

Tottenham is hoping that Lloris won’t need surgery, but his condition will be closely watched. Fraser Forster will fill in for Lloris in goal while the Frenchman recovers.
Lloris has kept nine clean sheets in 27 games for Tottenham in all competitions this season, but he has been chastised for a number of high-profile gaffes.
The goalkeeper has 151 clean sheets in 443 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Lyon in 2012, but his contract expires at the end of next season.
