Michael Hussey and Ryan Harris are to work as part of the Australia coaching setup for the two home T20I series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Hussey will hold a mentoring role where he will use his experience from being employed as Chennai Super Kings’ batting coach. Former international colleague Harris, who works at Australia’s high-performance centre, also has plenty of T20 experience having played at Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab. Coach Justin Langer has made a habit of employing former colleagues in his coaching staff, with Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh previously having roles,. The coach is looking forward to working with the reinforcements, as his side build towards the Sri Lanka series, which begins on October 27. “I can’t tell you how influential these guys can be on the group,” Langer said. “It’s about building our leadership, about honing their skills as cricketers, and they can just complement the other guys who are full-time coaches. “It’s nice to have different voices and different eyes and see guys of that calibre giving us feedback on what they see.”
