Ibrahimovic to Sue ‘Jealous’ Swedish Doctor Over Doping Claims

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his agent Mino Railo are planning to sue former Swedish athletics team doctor Ulf Karlsson after accusing the 34-year-old forward of doping while playing for Juventus.

Raiola told Expressen (via Guardian) that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was tested for doping on numerous occasions during his time with Old Lady and that Karlsson made a big mistake for accusing his client without any evidence to support his claims.

“We will sue him. There are always people who hate. Maybe he is a former athlete who failed, or maybe he’s just jealous. But this man has made a big mistake. He had one life before making this statement, and he will have a different life after it. He is spreading falsehoods.”

“Doping at Juventus was over when Zlatan arrived. We had plenty of doping controls there and Zlatan was tested between 15 and 20 times. Juventus were always under the microscope. The claims are just crazy – the facts are not there. All the clubs Zlatan has been at know he doesn’t even take aspirin.”

Karlsson stated that Ibrahimovic rapid gain of weight when he joined the Old Lady is enough to raise suspicion and he believes the 34-year-old used illegal substances help him add 10 kilograms over the course of six months.

Raiola was also asked about his client’s opinion and reaction to these allegations and said that Zlatan is more worried about his performance against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

“I was just talking to him. He is calm. He’s more embarrassed that he missed a penalty yesterday. He said it was not his job to respond to these kinds of allegations.”

Ibrahimovic spent two years at Juventus between 2004-2006 and made a switch to Inter later, after the Old Lady was relegated to Serie B because of their involvement in the Calciopoli scandal.
