Ilkay Gundogan has assured supporters that he has not passed away after Manchester City‘s first team wore shirts in support of the midfielder after his cruciate ligament injury.
Gundogan’s season appears to be over after he went down injured in City’s win over Watford in the week with the German sustaining a cruciate ligament problem.
Pep Guardiola confirmed that the 26-year-old is set to miss several months of action due to the problem leaving the Citizens with a significant absence in centre-midfield.
Gundogan’s injury prompted City’s first team to wear his No.8 SHIRT during the pre-match routine against Arsenal on Sunday as his teammates look to show support for their comrade.
This prompted fans to poke fun of the City side, questioning if Gundogan had actually died.
