Andres Iniesta has backed his former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique to be a success at Chelsea.
Antonio Conte is under pressure at Stamford Bridge after a difficult second season — the Italian and Chelsea won the title last year but now face a battle to finish in the top four.
And it is understood that Enrique is owner Roman Abramovich’s preferred choice to take the hotseat at the end of the campaign.
Iniesta travels to London with his Barcelona team-mates this week as they prepare to take on Chelsea.
Ahead of that game, the Spain international has said Enrique would impress if he was given the Chelsea job.
Iniesta said: ‘Enrique is an excellent coach. In Barcelona, he showed the incredible level he has reached.
‘I think he could win trophies at any club – and that includes Chelsea. It won’t be easy because Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world.
‘But when you see what Enrique developed in Barcelona, then I think it is also possible in London.
‘The Premier League is a tough competition but, for me, he is capable of managing any big English club.’
Enrique has been out of work since leaving Barcelona at the end of last season.
