Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki has emerged as an unlikely winter target for Italian giants Inter Milan. Pukki, 29, appears to have found his spiritual home at Carrow Road after finally bagging the volume of goals that his talent seemed to warrant.
Having scored 29 from 43 Championship outings in 2018-2019, the Finland hitman was instrumental in the East Anglians gaining promotion to the Premier League and has continued in a similar vein this term.
The much-travelled forward has notched six goals from eight top-flight outings and ploughed a lone furrow up front as Norwich have slipped to 19th in the standings with six points from eight games played.
Pukki has been on the books of some decent European clubs but never really made his mark, with limited success at Schalke and Celtic while making one appearance for La Liga side Sevilla back in 2008-2009.
He has found his feet at Norwich but Italian outlet Calcio Mercato are reporting that Inter boss Antonio Conte is looking for a striker in the new year and has scouted the man in yellow and green.
It seems unlikely that Daniel Farke would want him to leave and Pukki has made no secret of how much he loves life at Norwich, but the lure of Serie A football and a possible a run-out in the Champions League may be hard to resist.
Norwich’s position in the table may also play a part as they might choose to cash in if things are bad and top-flight survival seems unlikely.
Farke will hope that is not the case and he still has the Finnish ace on his books for the run-in to the end of the season.
Pukki will hope to get back to goalscoring from when Norwich travel to the Vitality Stadium to face Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.
