According to various sources, including prominent Argentine writer Hernan Castillo and FC Barcelona transfer market analyst Gerard Romero, Lionel Messi has decided to join Inter Miami in the MLS.
SPORT claimed last week that the David Beckham-owned American team had offered Messi a formal offer for €50 million ($54 million) per season for four years.
Inter Miami have long been mentioned as a possible next destination for Messi, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30.
Until now, the Argentine has been most heavily connected to former club FC Barcelona and the Middle Eastern club Al-Hilal.
On Tuesday, Barcelona won La Liga’s approval to sign Messi after their economic viability plan describing how they will make the transaction work despite financial challenges was accepted by the Spanish top flight.
Despite claims that the Catalans are now ready to make a proposal to Messi, the Catalans still need to sell players to pull off the return of their best ever player, and the Argentine wants to have his future determined as soon as possible to avoid suffering a transfer nightmare.

Footmercato reported on Sunday that Messi’s camp has accepted a €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) two-season contract from Al-Hilal, putting him at the top of Forbes’ list of the World’s Highest-Paid Athletes in 2024.
According to GOAL, Messi’s entourage informed a Saudi delegation traveling to Paris to finalize a prospective agreement on Monday that they wish to postpone the move until 2024.
Messi and his father and agent Jorge Messi have been reported as favouring Al-Hilal, despite Jorge being caught by Romero’s Jijantes FC station saying they “would love” a second stay at Barcelona.
