Inter Milan have confirmed the transfer of Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach on a free transfer.
The club announced the deal on Saturday which saw the France international sign a five-year deal with the Italian club.
The 25-year-old son of French World Cup champion Lilian Thuram joins Inter after spending four seasons with Gladbach. He made 134 appearances and recorded 44 goals and 29 assists.
Thuram, who made his senior national team debut in 2020, was a member of France’s Euro squad that year. He has earned 10 caps for his country. He participated in the World Cup last year as well, as France were defeated by Argentina in the final.
“Marcus Thuram is quick. He has always been quick to reach his goals and to overcome any hurdle in his path. To show that he is worth so much more than just the name on the back of his shirt,” Inter wrote on their official website, inter.it.
“His path has crossed with Inter before. In October 2020, Thuram made his Champions League debut against the Nerazzurri at San Siro.
“That was the first taste of San Siro for a boy that had grown up dreaming of emulating Ronaldo O Fenômeno, who engaged in numerous battles with his father Lilian.”

Thuram was born in Parma while his father was a player for the Italian side. Prior to joining Inter, he had been linked to a number of other European clubs.
Milan Skriniar, Danilo D’Ambrosio, and Roberto Gagliardini have already confirmed their departures from Inter following the expiration of their contracts. Inter succumbed to Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final last month.
