Inter Milan’s Star Speaks Out After Tarnishing Harry Kane’s Champions League Dream

Inter hero Benjamin Pavard challenged his team to go all the way and win the Champions League after eliminating Harry Kane and Bayern Munich.

Former Tottenham duo Kane and Eric Dier attempted to spark a Bayern comeback, but Inter held on to set up a semi-final against Barcelona. In desperation, Bayern defender Josip Stanisic pushed over a ball boy late in the game, which threatened to get nasty.

However, two goals in three minutes from hit man Lautaro Martinez and Pavard at the San Siro were enough to fend off the injured German giants.

Pavard, a former Bayern Munich defender, said: “We performed an excellent job. We don’t set limits since we’ve come this far and want to keep going. We are an exceptional company with an excellent crew that has been functioning successfully for the past two years.” Reported By Mirror.

England star Kane will have to wait another year for European glory, despite winning the Bundesliga this season, which would likely end his trophy drought. It was not to be for Vincent Kompany’s players, who were missing Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Jamal Musiala.

Bayern manager Kompany said: “We have to reflect on the big topic before the games against Inter. It was all about the players we were missing due to injuries. I think we did well anyway.”

Kane’s 35th goal of the season, only seven minutes into the second half, gave Kompany hope for a comeback victory following their 2-1 loss in the first leg at the Allianz Arena. But, only six minutes later, Martinez scored his eighth goal in Europe this season when Joshua Kimmich failed to clear a corner.
