Inter Set To Agree Deal For Lukaku In Huge Loss To Chelsea

Belgian forward, Romelu Lukaku is now set to be bought outright by Inter Milan. But the club will only pay a small portion of what Chelsea spent to acquire him just two seasons ago.

The Nerazzurri will make a new offer to the 30-year-old, who still has three years left on a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via Goal, the new offer will be €30 million (£25.6 million/$33 million) plus significant add-ons. Following his time on loan there in 2022–2023 season, the Italian strongholds have previously been interested in another loan deal. But Chelsea only wants an outright sale.

The player was re-signed by Chelsea in 2021 for €115 million (£98 million/$126 million), but after one unsuccessful season in west London, he was sent out on loan.

The big forward plundered 14 goals and notched 7 assists in 37 games for Inter across all competitions last season. He was subbed on in the UEFA Champions League final defeat to Manchester City where he missed an opportunity to level the score for the Nerazzurri.

Lukaku is scheduled to rejoin his Chelsea teammates for preseason training. Despite the fact that the new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, had made hints that a decision regarding his future was imminent.

As the Champions League finalists get ready for the start of Serie A on August 20, Lukaku can fully concentrate on preseason preparations now that his destiny may soon be decided.
