Jules Kounde claims that it was an “easy choice” for him to pick Barcelona ahead of Chelsea as Xavi Hernandez is in charge of the Catalan club.
Kounde was on the verge of signing for Chelsea until Barcelona hijacked that move by agreeing to a deal for four years worth €50m (£42m/$50m), plus up to €10m (£8.3m/$10.2m) in add-ons.
The defender admitted that Barcelona manager Xavi was a major factor in his decision because he admired the Spaniard’s footballing philosophy.

What Did Kounde Say About Joining Barcelona?
Kounde is one of the crucial players that Barcelona added to their roster during the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad.
The France international is a natural center back, but he has a lot of experience playing right back, which makes him a flexible player and enhances the squad depth at Camp Nou.
Ahead of the Champions League clash against Viktoria Plzen, Kounde said: “Barca is still a club able to attract anyone, and the manager was very important too.
