Real Madrid Antonio Rudiger has praised Barcelona’s attacking wonder Lamine Yamal.
Yamal, who is only 17, is already a club and national team regular. He’s enjoyed a meteoric ascent in recent years, and the Spanish international appears destined for greatness. Antonio Rudiger, Real Madrid’s defensive cornerstone, recently spoke with Mundo Deportivo about the teenager’s extraordinary climb.
The German centre-back told Mundo Deportivo: “What Lamine Yamal is doing is ridiculous, but you have to give him credit.” He plays for Barcelona at the age of 17, as he did in the EURO.”

The teenager has already appeared in 61 matches for the Catalan giants’ first squad, scoring 26 goals (12 goals and 14 assists). He was a crucial member of Xavi’s team last season and contributed significantly to Spain’s victory at Euro 2024. He has had an outstanding start to the current season under Hansi Flick, with ten goals in as many games.
Rudiger believes it is unusual for a youngster to perform what Yamal has been doing for over a year already. The Madrid centre-back feels the Barcelona graduate deserves a lot of credit and hopes the 17-year-old manages to stay healthy.
He said, “I hope he stays healthy; he has a bright future.” It’s terrifying what he’s doing.”
Rudiger acknowledged that it is frightening to see what Yamal is accomplishing at such a young age, which is a high compliment for the young winger, especially coming from a key player for their biggest opponent.
