Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi believes he has done himself justice in taking the first-team chances he has been awarded by Arsene Wenger.
The Nigeria international recently marked 50 games for the Gunners after making the starting line-up for Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.
The 20-year-old, who has been able to establish himself in Arsenal’s first team ahead of the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey in wide attacking positions, knows there is a long way to go still in his Arsenal career.
“I never thought I would be where I am at the age of 20, it’s an amazing feeling to have made 50 appearances for Arsenal,” Iwobi told the Daily Mail.
“It is just the start of my career basically, so I just need to get more appearances, get more goals and assists and do my best for the team.
“Whenever the boss gives me the chance to play I always give it my best. I think I’ve done well enough to get the chance to play, the boss has given me the chance and I’ve taken it.
“The manager, Steve Bould, everyone – even the players – have all given me advice on what to do, helping me on and off the pitch. The sports instructors, everyone. Everyone has helped get to where I am today.”
Iwobi has made 20 appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League this season and has managed to score three goals and register a further three assists.
