Alex Iwobi has taken to social media to play down concerns about his fitness ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League showdown with Liverpool next month.
The Nigeria international played 74 minutes of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Sutton United in the FA Cup on Monday night as he helped Arsene Wenger’s reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
Iwobi had worried some Arsenal fans by posting a picture of his leg in a bandage on Snapchat in the wake of the cup win.
However, the midfielder has taken to social media to insist that he is not injured.
He posted the picture above on Snapchat and wrote the caption:
“‘Alex Iwobi Is injured?’ LOOL No He’s Not,”
Arsenal are looking to beat Liverpool at Anfield in their next Premier League game as they bid to keep their push for a top-four finish on track.
The Gunners take on Jurgen Klopp’s men on Merseyside on Saturday 4 March.
Iwobi has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team this season and has already made 17 Premier League starts so far this term.
