Chelsea forward, Nicolas Jackson reportedly appeared to slap an opponent during the Blues’ altercation with Nottingham Forest.
Players and coaches started fighting in the last few minutes of the match, turning the fierce contest into a full-scale brawl. Forest’sNeco Williams set off the scenario in the 88th minute when he shoved defender Marc Cucurella at Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca in his technical area.
According to the Daily Star, a video captured from the fans shows Jackson seemingly slapping Forest defender Morato during the resulting mayhem. Already substituted, Jackson stepped out of the dugout to join the fight.
New video of the altercation showed the Senegalese star going for Morato and then apparently placing his palm in his face.
Although VAR officials acknowledged witnessing the event, they did not believe the violent behavior was sufficiently evident to overrule the on-field referee, Graham Kavanagh, who simply gave Cucurella and Williams yellow cards. Jackson could still face disciplinary punishment from the FA, though, if they believe it is justified.
“If you ask me if I prefer when something like that happens – I like the spirit of our team,” Maresca said after the game.

“In terms of emotion, the team is fighting altogether and I don’t think some of them lose their heads. They were, all of them, in the game. I was happy with that.
