According to Manchester Evening News, After months of inactivity, exiled Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho completed his loan transfer to Borussia Dortmund and assumed a crucial shirt number.
Upon Jadon Sancho’s return to Borussia Dortmund, the lucrative No. 10 shirt was given to him by Manchester United.
Following a horrendous stint at Old Trafford, the Bundesliga’s biggest clubs revealed on Thursday that they had signed Sancho through the end of the campaign. The 23-year-old’s problems reached a breaking point at the start of September, and he never really settled back in the North West.
Erik ten Hag was questioned about why Sancho was left out of the squad after the loss to Arsenal. In response, the Dutch manager stated that the forward was cut because of subpar training performances.
Sancho took to social media to criticize the United manager, claiming he had been used as a “scapegoat” by the team. Even though the winger did not apologize to his boss, the damage had already been done when the post was removed.
Naturally, a return to Dortmund has been agreed upon, and Sancho will carry the responsibility of wearing the No. 10 shirt. When the Englishman first arrived at the Theatre of Dreams, he was not given this kind of responsibility.

Due to his exceptional performances while playing for Dortmund’s first team, Sancho was awarded the No. 7 jersey. But he arrived at United one month before Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract.
Sancho was therefore asked to designate another number, 25, as his. The fact that the numbers two and five add up to seven may indicate the choice’s significance, but all other viable options were eliminated.
Even though Sancho has been a part of the squad for a longer period of time, Anthony Martial held the No. 9, Marcus Rashford held the No. 10, and Rasmus Hojlund most recently claimed the No. 11. Sancho’s assignment to No. 10 suggests that Dortmund intends to use the winger as the focal point of their lineup—at least for the remainder of the current campaign.
