Despite the fact that Liverpool is yet to sign Arne Slot, Jamie Carragher has not panicked about the club’s transfer strategy. The Reds had their sights set on Martin Zubimendi, but the midfielder chose to stay at Real Sociedad rather than move to the Premier League.
Liverpool’s new head coach Slot is unconcerned with the lack of additions, understanding the difficulty of identifying players who can improve the squad’s quality. However, Carragher sees areas where the team can improve.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, the former Reds defender underlined his relief that Liverpool isn’t rushing into the transfer market: “There are areas of the team or that squad that I believe we need to strengthen, that’s obvious,” he said.
Carragher respects the club’s methodical approach, which contrasts with Chelsea’s recent rush of activity: “But I love the fact that we don’t panic, not only now, but also in the past. I truly like it about the club. The situation at Chelsea, with players coming and going left, right, and center, terrifies me. “I would never want it to be like that.”
Gary Neville, the former Manchester United captain, agrees with Carragher but questions Liverpool’s capacity or willingness to invest massively in top talent, given their cautious approach in the market.
“I agree with you completely, 100 per cent,” the politician replied. “There’s only that; is there an element of money present? If there were a player worth £70 million,if there was a £100m ($130m) player would it be there?”
Carragher responded, “This is an age-old argument among Liverpool fans.” Liverpool sought £100 million for Moises Caicedo last season. So if he wanted to go to Liverpool, he would have invested £100 million.
