Jamie Carragher Claims Liverpool’s “Star Man Performance” Was Poor In Man United Draw

Many criticized Trent Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool’s unexpected 2-2 draw with Manchester United, but Jamie Carragher has pointed out another Reds player who may have felt they could have done more.

The Reds icon Carragher feels that one player appeared to enter the game with too much “arrogance,” despite the fact that Liverpool has been by far the finest side in the nation and maybe in Europe this season.

On The Gary Neville Podcast, Carragher stated, “I thought Curtis Jones was poor and the one negative about Curtis Jones as a player when he’s not playing well is that he holds on to the ball too much.”

‘He’s got that football arrogance which is something you want, but he’s at his best when he plays two-touch, he moves it quickly and he presses.

He’s not a superstar in terms of beating players and clever passes, he just moves it on quickly and he presses, he’s energetic.

‘As soon as he holds onto the ball for half a second too much, it doesn’t become football arrogance, it’s just arrogance.

Under Slot, who has given the 23-year-old a lot of game time and faith this season, Jones has had something of a breakout campaign, reports Daily Mail.

Like Ryan Gravenberch, he had previously had difficulty making the starting lineup, but under the new Reds manager, he is now a regular player.
