Jamie Carragher Urges Liverpool To Sign Premier League Star To Solve Andy Robertson Issue

Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher has criticized Andy Robertson’s recent efforts after the Reds lost two points to Fulham on Saturday.

Robertson’s troubles began early, as he was the victim of a harsh tackle by Fulham defender Issa Diop. While many thought that the challenge deserved a red card, the referee and VAR decided not to take action. However, things swiftly got worse for the Liverpool defender.

Shortly after the missed call, Robertson’s poor defensive posture allowed Andreas Pereira to open the score for Fulham, giving the visitors an unexpected lead at Anfield.

Just six minutes later, Robertson’s heavy touch surrendered the ball to Fulham’s Harry Wilson, who broke Free on goal. In an attempt to recover, Robertson fouled Wilson just outside the box, earning a straight red card for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Liverpool was forced to play the rest of the game with only 10 men.

Gakpo levelled early in the second half, but Muniz regained Fulham’s advantage in the 76th minute. With time running out, it appeared that the Reds would suffer their second home defeat of the season, but Diogo Jota came off the substitute to save a point for the Reds in the last minutes of the game.

Jamie Carragher encourages Liverpool to sign Milos Kerkez.

Following his last performance, club veteran Jamie Carragher has urged the club to sign another left-back, specifically Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, a player Arne Slot admires, to resolve the left-back issue.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he stated (quotes from Daily Mail):

“(Against Fulham) He doesn’t look like he’s running back fully, he’s had a whack (earlier in the half) then gingerly goes to control the ball before getting a red card.”

“He needs help. Liverpool doesn’t have any backup, which is something they need to address in January.”

‘(Milos) Kerkez has been a revelation for Bournemouth. Richard Hughes, the technical director who brought him to Bournemouth, is currently Liverpool’s sports director.

“Kerkez looks like a fullback, and he’s combative. He’s been outstanding since joining the Premier League and will be one to watch in the future, whether he stays or leaves.”
