Raul Jimenez says Wolves will treat their Europa League trip to Slovan Bratislava on Thursday like a final. The Molineux club lost to Braga in their opening match in the competition but responded by seeing off Besiktas.
Slovan currently top Group K with four points, one ahead of Wolves in third spot, and the Premier League club can give their qualification hopes a huge boost with a win in Slovakia on Thursday.
Wolves are the favourites ahead of the match and punters may wish to use their free bet to back them to secure all three points, but Jimenez is taking nothing for granted. “We’re going to have to go there thinking we can win this game because they then have to come here to Molineux [on Matchday 4] and it’s a good opportunity to take a good advantage,” he told the club website. “But we know that they are playing well; they beat Besiktas, they drew with Braga, so they’re doing well, and we’ll have to be careful and face this game as another final – the way we face the Premier League matches.”
Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton at home in the last round of Premier League fixtures and they are unbeaten in six across all competitions.
The Bratislava club are unbeaten in nine overall and at home they have an incredible record, with Slovan unbeaten in their last 34 competitive home games in a run stretching way back to April 2018.
