Jimenez – Wolves have finally adapted

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez says his team have finally found their rhythm after a difficult start to the campaign. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are now up to eighth in the Premier League table after Sunday’s 2-1 success over local rivals Aston Villa.
Wolves opened the scoring thanks to a stunning strike from Ruben Neves before Jimenez fired home with six minutes remaining.
Villa found a consolation effort in stoppage time after Trezeguet found the back of the net but the damage was already done as Wolves picked up all three points.
Wolves have now enjoyed a three-match unbeaten run in all competitions and they have managed to turn their fortunes around after a tough set of results in September.
Three defeats and a draw put Nuno under immense pressure but Jimenez believes they have learned their lessons.
He told the Daily Mail: “It’s very important for us to be up there. We’ve had a bit of a slow beginning, a lot of drawn matches, but now we’re playing good football. “We’re making important things on the pitch and in the last couple of matches we have done very, very well. Now we have a break but we need to continue like this when we return to the team as we know that we have to keep doing the same to be fighting in the league.”
After scoring his 13th goal of the season, Jimenez will now be confident of helping his side finish in the top six.
The 28-year-old has played his part as Wolves sit second in Group K in the Europa League. They have won three of their first four matches and sit just one point behind Sporting Braga with two games remaining.
